Kate has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2009. She was a member of the Young Fabian Executive from 2004-9 and Chair during 2008/09. In May 2010 she was elected as a Labour Councillor for Mildmay Ward in Islington, winning back a seat held by the Liberal Democrats. As a Councillor she takes a particular interest in children and young people, health and social care. She is a Governor of University College London Hospitals Foundation Trust, a primary school Governor and a trustee of her local Sure Start Children's Centre. She is a member of the trade union Unite.
Kate works as Policy and Research Director at Daycare Trust, the national childcare campaign, leading the organisation's work with government, Parliament and the media. She previously worked at Carers UK, the CBI and the Social Market Foundation. |
