“I think the pupil premium and the plans for that are excellent, and should be cheered. To be fair, under Labour there were increases in disadvantage related education funding, but weren’t quite branded in the same way” said Tim Horton, Research Director at the Fabian Society.

The panel, which also included Sarah Teather MP, Asheem Singh from ResPublica and Imran Hussian from the Child Poverty Action Group, discussed whether the Coalition was meeting the fairness tests on equality and mobility.
