Fabian New Year Conference 2010 podcast "We have to try and build a somewhat different kind of society out of the recession, going back to 'business as usual' is not right. I think the driver of the economic crisis is the fact that we have become a much more unequal society. I think we are going to have to take an awful lot of state action," warns TUC communications and campaigns head Nigel Stanley in the latest Fabian society podcast.
Recorded at the "What not to spend" panel discussion at the Fabian New Conference, Stanley was joined by Vince Cable MP and Janet Daley to discuss where money can be saved, whether cuts to front line public services are inevitable and which party is best placed to make those cuts.
