David Blunkett MP: “Broaden the Coalition outside of Parliament to protect people”

“Because we were prepared to consider a deal with Labour, I think that does leave the option of a coalition open for the future. But I think for it to happen, Labour do need to change their attitudes and become less tribal,” says Liberal Democrat MP, John Leech.

The panel, which also included Dr Evan Harris, former MP for Oxford West and Abingdon, Sunder Katwala, General Secretary of the Fabian Society and was chaired by Polly Toynbee from the Guardian discussed the challenges for both Labour and Liberal Democrat politicians when trying to negotiate a coalition deal after the last indecisive election and those expected in the future.
