Jessica Asato has been a member of the Fabian Society since 1998 and is a former Young Fabian Chair. She has been a Member of the Executive for 7 years, and Vice-Chair for 2. She is Director of the Labour Yes to Fairer Votes Campaign to build support within the Labour Party for a Yes vote in the Referendum on the Alternative Vote.
Previously she worked as the Social Media lead for the David Miliband Campaign and as the Acting Director of the Labour pressure group Progress launching campaigns on a Citizen’s Assembly, voting reform, and primaries.
Jessica is a Councillor in the London Borough of Islington, Vice-Chair of the Fabian Society and a Director of the progressive blog Left Foot Forward.
Jessica is also the Joint Chair of Brook, a young person’s sexual health charity, founder of the Gareth Butler History Trust to provide funding for school trips for young disadvantaged students, and a Trustee of the Richard Cloudesely Trust. |
